Welcome to my blog. I’m Anthony Riojas, a technology enthusiast, tinkerer, lover of learning, and proud husband & father. Join me as I document and recollect my various wins, learning moments, and soul crushing loses with technology in my personal and professional life.
Ultimately, this site will serve more for more basic explanations, of things as well as some (hopefully) hilarious “I can’t believe you thought that was a good idea” stories.
Tech isn’t just about where you land, but the journey. All of the (mis)adventures.
1. Why this, why now
Bob Ross used to say “there are no mistakes, only happy accidents”. That’s the approach I’ve taken with tinkering and diving head first into learning new things with technology (although sometimes the only head first I want to apply is a headbutt to my monitor).
Every crash, freeze, failure to start, is just something new to learn, and then course correct (or just toss out the window due to frustration, I won’t judge).
2. What kind of community are you looking to build here
One that doesn’t take itself too seriously. One where we can all relate to a story or incident and look back and laugh on the blunders, the breaks, the headaches, and how we learned something from it.
3. What’s this page about
This isn’t for super technical, high level overviews (shoutout to those that are), but more light hearted talks about tech and various ways it intersects with other things in my life and how I’ve adapted to it, or broken it.
